Joanna has been a massive help to the Finance department in the recent weeks helping us with a back log of work and going through avenues whether it’s phone calls or emails to ensure processes are correct, she does this while maintaining her own her job role as payroll administrator and we as a team would like to say thank you 🙂

Gracie, Yamu and Charity supported a resident that lasted a long period of time, she was upset about her sky and was physically aggressive towards staff. Staff supported her and came up with different solutions to de-escalate her and gave her support during this difficult time, staff also supported her mum and reassured her during the situation.

Gracie, Angel and Angie supported a resident during a crisis situation. A resident was laying in a road and then threw her clothes into a river and attempted to dive in. The team responded well to this situation and de-escalated her, giving her their coats and protecting her dignity and preventing her from going into the river. Great work team!

Dr Diana (RC) has recently joined the team at SL and we are in a particularly difficult season with patient’s risk presentations. Diana has attended a number of difficult meetings, and been under a lot of scrutiny due to a particular patient. Diana has showed resilience throughout this time, particularly so when she’s only recently qualified.

Jay was asked, at the last minute, to be our DJ for the Xmas party. Although there were issues throughout the morning connecting the equipment, Jay remained calm, rang his friend for advise & managed to sort this out just in time. Jay played the personalised playlist he had created for us with a smile on his face!

Joe has worked for the service since it opened which is over 12 years ago. Joe still comes into work everyday willing to learn new things and always asking questions. Joe still possesses the same energy and passion that he did when he first started at cygnet and is always looking for new ideas. Joe is a great role model for both staff and residents
